From Commercial Drone Photography to the Scottish Horizons Collection

Most people know Merlin Imaging for commercial drone photography, helping businesses, estate agents, and organisations showcase their properties, projects, and locations from a unique perspective. Whether it’s aerial marketing imagery, property photography, inspections, or promotional content, capturing Scotland from above has always been at the heart of what I do.

But when I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me exploring Scotland with a camera.

Over the past few years, I’ve been building the Scottish Horizons collection, a growing portfolio of photographs celebrating Scotland’s landscapes, landmarks, coastlines, and hidden corners. From the dramatic mountains of Glencoe and the North Coast 500 to Edinburgh’s historic skyline, engineering icons such as the Forth Bridges, and locations like The Kelpies and Easter Road Stadium, each image captures another piece of what makes Scotland such a remarkable place.

Many of the photographs have been taken using the same attention to composition, lighting, and quality that I bring to my commercial photography work. While some images are captured from the air, others are photographed from ground level, often involving early starts, long journeys, and waiting for the perfect weather and light.

I’m delighted that the Scottish Horizons collection is now available in The Leith Collective, with selected postcards and prints stocked in both their Ocean Terminal, Leith and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, Livingston stores. Supporting independent Scottish retailers has been an important milestone, allowing visitors and locals alike to discover the collection in person.

For those further afield, the full range of prints and postcards is also available through the Scottish Horizons Etsy shop, where you’ll find a growing collection of Scottish photography available in a variety of sizes. Every print is produced in Scotland using high-quality materials, with a focus on sustainability and presentation.

While commercial drone photography remains a core part of Merlin Imaging, Scottish Horizons is an opportunity to share the landscapes and locations that inspire me outside of client projects. It’s a chance to bring a little piece of Scotland into homes, offices, and businesses across the country and beyond.

Whether you’re looking for professional aerial photography for your business or a print to remind you of a favourite Scottish location, I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Merlin Imaging and Scottish Horizons so far. The collection continues to grow, with new locations being added throughout the year.
